One of our key strengths is our team. Small enough to care, large enough to tackle a range of projects from a bathroom renovation to a new house build. In addition to our core team, we have a few other quality builders that we work in with – helping each other when we are busy. The subcontractors we use are ones that have proven themselves to fit with our ethics – fair priced, quality work, and professionally run with friendly people.
Born and raised in Blenheim, Colin moved to Christchurch at around 20 years old, entering into the building industry. He spent the following 25 or so years on a variety of sites, being employed then in later years self employed. Working on a variety of projects from renovation work to new housing, moving into light commercial employed by a larger outfit in the early 2000’s undertaking bar and restaurant fit outs. After this time in commercial, he decided to return to being self employed, this time forming Stalwart Construction Ltd in 2006 to set up as a company, and he also undertook to complete formal building training – completing his adult apprenticeship in 2010 through BCITO.
During the upheaval of the earthquakes in 2010-11, Colin did work as an insurance assessor for initial scoping visits. With his team, he then went on to repair countless homes, under Fletchers EQR and for owners privately settled, earning much praise along the way.
During his spare time, Colin loves to jam on his guitar, walk the dog, spend time with his family, and has been known to enjoy a few quality whiskeys! He’s also recently gained his motorbike licence, enjoying some weekends away seeing the sights of New Zealand!
